Comfortab;e, but no relief
I used this to help alleviate the redness from my rosacea. It did not dry my skin or make my face feel tight, however it worsened the redness. The licorice additive that it advertises turns out to be a rosacea trigger.

Ok, but not there yet
I loved this cleanser at first, within a few days it helps to bring the redness down! However I find it doesn't cleanse as well as I would like. While its nice and gentle for my face, it doesnt seem to do so well deep cleaning the pores.

I have tried this product and find that it is very mild and seems to clam the skin, but like another reviewer, I have found it does not cleanse very effectively. It is a clear gel that does not lather and is difficult to rinse. Still, I prefer it to the Aveeno foaming cleaner which has a strong odor which I didn't like.

Very itchy
Tried it after my dermatologist suggested it. It felt okay at first, the skin didn't tighten and dry up as with other cleansers. But the next day, I felt my skin becoming very itchy and almost inflamed. I stopped using it right away and went back to my old reliable cleanser.

alternative facial cleanser
I have not used the the eucerin cleanser yet, precisely because it did not seem to foam up or rinse off well. But I have found a similar, but pricier product that some might find helpful. Lancome carries a line called "Bright" for evening out the skin tone. In checking the label, it does in fact contain the same licorice derivative that eucerin contains. On a whim, I tried it and it seems to work well. The redness appears to have mostly faded to a more neutral (if not perfectly uniform) skin color. And the light cream formulation foams up slightly, removes makeup effectively, and rinses completely. Now I'm experimenting with adding the Eucerin lotion to the regimen - at first try it seems to be itchy especially around the cheek area. Hope my two cents is helpful. I expect we'll be seeing more and more cosmetics adding the licochalcone to their products.

Didn't see any difference
I bought the whole product line and used it for a month. It did not make it worse, but not any better either. :(

Not good for allergic skin
My dermotologist gave me some samples of Eucerin Redness Relief.
After using it for one week it make my rosacea worse; it left my face with red blotches interspersed with yellow streaks! I stopped using it and went back to Cetaphil skin cleanser, Almay lotion and Physician's Formula green liquid makeup.
I suspect that I'm allergic to something in the Eucerin Redness Relief, it certainly isn't good for sensitive allergic skin.

Ehh, Not for me.
This product removed my makeup ok but it actually burned my face especially right under my eyes and upper cheeks. Because of the burning it made my face more red.

Rosacea Subtypes
Subtype 1: Erythematotelangiectatic rosacea
characterized by flushing and persistent redness, and may also include visible blood vessels.
Subtype 2: Papulopustular rosacea
characterized by persistent redness with transient bumps and pimples.
Subtype 3: Phymatous rosacea
characterized by skin thickening, often resulting in an enlargement of the nose from excess tissue.
Subtype 4: Ocular rosacea
characterized by ocular manifestations such as dry eye, tearing and burning, swollen eyelids,
recurrent styes and potential vision loss from corneal damage.
Rosacea Stages
Pre-Rosacea
the first cardinal sign of rosacea: blood vessels dilate to more stimuli, open wider and stay open for longer periods of time compared to normal
persons. No visible damage can normally be seen.
Mild Rosacea
begins when the facial redness induced by flushing persists for an abnormal length of time - usually 1/2 an hour or more after a trigger. Those who
have frequent pre-rosacea flushing are highly susceptible to progressing to mild rosacea. Some of the common triggers for a facial flush are heat,
cold, emotions, exercise, topical irritants and allergic reactions.
Moderate Rosacea
as facial flushing becomes more frequent and intense, vascular damage occurs. This can result in long lasting redness, swelling and inflammatory
papules and pustules. Telangiectasia (damaged micro blood vessels, often visible on the surface of the skin) may be noticed in the areas where
flushing is worst.
Severe Rosacaea
characterised by intense bouts of facial flushing, severe inflammation, facial pain, swelling and burning sensations. Sufferers may develop
intolerance to products they were able to use before. Also inflammatory papules, pustules and nodules may be present. Some experience a bulbous
enlargement of the nose, known as rhinophyma. This is just a guide, you may of course experience symptoms outside these ranges.
