Clinique super city block SPF25

Does not blend in well
I found that it did not blend in when applied. It is tinted a tan colour but showed when applied to my red skin. The few times I have used it when out in the sun for many hours it did a good job at protecting myself from the sun and did not cause any irritation.

Not great
This product is too thick, and blocked my pores. Although it is slightly tinted, it still makes my skin look very pale and also caused my skin to look shiny. I have also tried the sheer version, which I prefer.

Not bad.
I found this sunscreen to be quite effective. Yes it was thick to apply but I used a sponge and that seemed to help. I also added some of my moisturiser to it and that also helped with the blending.I was able to spend time outdoors in the city center during a a very hot time of day (noon) without suffering any flushes or prickly feeling. I did find the sunscreen to be quite heavy feeling once it was on and I didn't wear it all day due to that.

Like it
I have to disagree with the other reviews. I really like this product. I would like it even more if the tint wasn't so sheer. Males can definitely wear this and not look like they have make-up on. You might have blending problems if you put this on over something else, but otherwise I think it blends fine.

too pasty
I tried this many times but for some reason it always looks sort of greasy and white, probably from the titanium dioxide. many people swear by this, however, and it likely does keep rosacea sun damage down.

City block spf40
I got this as part of a freebie & I love it. It's a very good primer and sunblock. Almost all sunblocks I've try sting and make my face red, this does not at all. I was on a local news show at 5:45am and I used this product for the first time. I got so many compliments about how glowing & refreshed I looked, so I gues I'm sold!

Love This Sunscreen
Got it as a sample and I repurchased it. The only sunscreen that does not leave me greasy and it is non-irritating to my skin.

City Block SPF40 - Excellent!
I've been using this everyday for about 6 months and I think it is fantastic! I apply it right after my moisturiser each morning. I find i have to be a little careful when blending it but no more careful than applying anything else (tinted) to my skin. It never irritates. It gives me a natural glow. Perfect!

Both 25 and 40 are great!
I first tried the SPF40, I had no problems with it and loved how my skin looked throughout the day. I also tried the SPF25 for two reasons; it has no chemical sunscreens and it was sheer and I wanted to see how my skin tone would look. It too, balanced out my skin tone. After using both, I have decided to stick with the SPF40. While both work well and I would recommend both, I like how my skin tone looked and felt with the SPF40 and will stick with this one! Best of luck, and dont forget, Clinique is very forgiving, if you dont like one, you can return the product and try the other!

Too thick
I didn't care for this at all, I don't wear much makeup if any and it feels too thick on my skin and makes my face even more oily. I prefer Oil of Olay complete for combination skin, it's a moisturizer with a SPF of 15. It doesn't feel like I have anything on and it doesn't burn.

Love it!!!
This is the only sunscreen I can use. I have tried just about every product I know of, and this is great! Some other products either made me breakout or even peel. This calms my skin and the redness goes away.

Rosacea Subtypes
Subtype 1: Erythematotelangiectatic rosacea
characterized by flushing and persistent redness, and may also include visible blood vessels.
Subtype 2: Papulopustular rosacea
characterized by persistent redness with transient bumps and pimples.
Subtype 3: Phymatous rosacea
characterized by skin thickening, often resulting in an enlargement of the nose from excess tissue.
Subtype 4: Ocular rosacea
characterized by ocular manifestations such as dry eye, tearing and burning, swollen eyelids, recurrent styes and potential vision loss from corneal damage.

Rosacea Stages
Pre-Rosacea
the first cardinal sign of rosacea: blood vessels dilate to more stimuli, open wider and stay open for longer periods of time compared to normal persons. No visible damage can normally be seen.
Mild Rosacea
begins when the facial redness induced by flushing persists for an abnormal length of time - usually 1/2 an hour or more after a trigger. Those who have frequent pre-rosacea flushing are highly susceptible to progressing to mild rosacea. Some of the common triggers for a facial flush are heat, cold, emotions, exercise, topical irritants and allergic reactions.
Moderate Rosacea
as facial flushing becomes more frequent and intense, vascular damage occurs. This can result in long lasting redness, swelling and inflammatory papules and pustules. Telangiectasia (damaged micro blood vessels, often visible on the surface of the skin) may be noticed in the areas where flushing is worst.
Severe Rosacaea
characterised by intense bouts of facial flushing, severe inflammation, facial pain, swelling and burning sensations. Sufferers may develop intolerance to products they were able to use before. Also inflammatory papules, pustules and nodules may be present. Some experience a bulbous enlargement of the nose, known as rhinophyma. This is just a guide, you may of course experience symptoms outside these ranges.
