My Lotion, Sticking to it!
Seven or eight years ago, my dermotologist recommending Cetaphil lotion to me. My skin was so dry that I would bruise myself from scratching. After three days I had new skin, new life! A life without embarrassing skin irritations and without scratching! I have not been without it since. I have also used the soaps, sunscreen and cleanser, all with same results! I can't tell you the people that I've recommended Cetaphil to and not a single one has had bad results! This company should use me as a spokeswomen! I would be more than willing to do so!!! Cetaphil...that's my lotion and my story and I'm sticking to it! Angelina

Pretty darn good
I have rosacea and seb derm, so my skin is sensitive, somewhat greasy, and flakey. Trying to deal with oiliness and flakes at the same time is very irritating. Whenever my skin on my face gets a wee bit dry, though, I slap on Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion. So many other facial moisturizers are irritating, too light to moisturize, or too heavy and clog my pores. This one is just right (said Goldilocks). I don't use it everyday because the Elidel I use for my seb derm provides some moisturization, but when I need something else, this is what I reach for.

Very good
This is very good general purpose moisturizer for rosacea prone skin, and the sunscreen is not irritating. probably most suitable for people with younger skin as it does not contain the heavier moisturizing that older skin needs. probably excellent for men especially who don't want anything too expensive or hard to find.

doesn't work that good
I either break out in a flush, or it doesn't stop my skin from flaking too well. It seems to dry out my skin more than moisturize, and it doesn't seem to provide a protective layer when i go outside. i still use it on my mustache area, because it's not too oily which is important to me for keeping clean. If the mustache area gets too oily, then later you have to scrub too much when you're cleaning it.

It makes my cheeks itchy
I find that it makes my skin itchy.. don't know why. It doesn't seem drying though, and is quite moisturizing, such that when I wash my face, you can feel the cream is still there. So I'm not sure why it's making my skin itchy.

Great for shaving
Guys out there THROW AWAY ALL YOUR SHAVE CREAMS OR GELS! Use this along with the bump fighter razor blades and u will love me forever LOL. I discovered it works wonders 4 shaving after I ran out of my shaving cream. I've been trying to use on my oily sensitive skin, no burning, no funny smell, but it makes me greasy after a while and seems to make the persistent redness more obvious. It is very gentle really!

Rosacea Subtypes
Subtype 1: Erythematotelangiectatic rosacea
characterized by flushing and persistent redness, and may also include visible blood vessels.
Subtype 2: Papulopustular rosacea
characterized by persistent redness with transient bumps and pimples.
Subtype 3: Phymatous rosacea
characterized by skin thickening, often resulting in an enlargement of the nose from excess tissue.
Subtype 4: Ocular rosacea
characterized by ocular manifestations such as dry eye, tearing and burning, swollen eyelids, recurrent styes and potential vision loss from corneal damage.

Rosacea Stages
Pre-Rosacea
the first cardinal sign of rosacea: blood vessels dilate to more stimuli, open wider and stay open for longer periods of time compared to normal persons. No visible damage can normally be seen.
Mild Rosacea
begins when the facial redness induced by flushing persists for an abnormal length of time - usually 1/2 an hour or more after a trigger. Those who have frequent pre-rosacea flushing are highly susceptible to progressing to mild rosacea. Some of the common triggers for a facial flush are heat, cold, emotions, exercise, topical irritants and allergic reactions.
Moderate Rosacea
as facial flushing becomes more frequent and intense, vascular damage occurs. This can result in long lasting redness, swelling and inflammatory papules and pustules. Telangiectasia (damaged micro blood vessels, often visible on the surface of the skin) may be noticed in the areas where flushing is worst.
Severe Rosacaea
characterised by intense bouts of facial flushing, severe inflammation, facial pain, swelling and burning sensations. Sufferers may develop intolerance to products they were able to use before. Also inflammatory papules, pustules and nodules may be present. Some experience a bulbous enlargement of the nose, known as rhinophyma. This is just a guide, you may of course experience symptoms outside these ranges.
