CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion
CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion provides all-day moisturization with a single application and is clinically proven to increase skin hydration. CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion is uniquely formulated to increase the skin’s ability to attract, hold, and distribute moisture. It penetrates deep into the stratum corneum (the skin barrier) to restore the balance of essential lipids. This helps keep the skin barrier intact so it can protect against outside irritants. CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion also forms a protective layer over the skin’s surface to help prevent moisture loss. Unique, patented MVE delivery technology Ordinary moisturizing lotions need to be applied frequently because the ingredients are released in a single "burst" and absorbed in a short period of time. Like all CeraVe Skin Care products, CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion has the advantages of patented MVE delivery technology, which provides a controlled release of essential ceramides and other skin-nurturing and protective ingredients slowly over time. It allows the ingredients to penetrate deep into the skin to moisturize and nourish skin throughout the day while “locking in” precious moisture. The unique ingredients in CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion help restore and maintain the natural protective function of the skin barrier, help restore damaged skin, and help keep skin healthy. Elegant formulation CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion spreads easily and smoothly, absorbs rapidly, and never feels greasy. It is ideal for larger areas of the body. Like all CeraVe Skin Care products, CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion is noncomedogenic (does not cause pimples or acne by clogging pores), non-irritating, and fragrance-free. Dermat ologist recommended Dermatolog ists recommend CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion alone for dry, itchy skin as well as in combination with prescription medications. CeraVe may help to reduce the signs and symptoms of conditions such as mild eczema and psoriasis.1 Ask your dermatologist about the CeraVe Skin Care line.

Best I've Tried
CeraVe does work incredibly well. I've tried a lot of products and this one does everything I would want it to do. Not greasy, provides moisture all day (I live in the Seattle area, so not severely cold here), and after about 1 1/2 weeks of using it my skin looked better than it ever has: smoother, soft, more even-toned, healthy. I am 53 with mild rosacea and sensitive skin, slightly combination mostly dry. I wish this company would not test on animals or use toxic (in some way) ingredients, but I don't know if this is true. Hope it is, because this is wonderful. Nothing compares to it. Amazing stuff. I hate hype and this is also very reasonably priced at $12 for 12 oz. I don't know of anything that is $1/oz. or less.

FANTASTIC PRODUCT!
since my 30's suffered from rosacea with the redness and very gritty skin, i've tried so many products they're all greasy or irritated my skin. this is a miracle product for us who suffer from very dry skin. i went to my dermatologist who gave me a sample of the lotion. i'm a customer for life. i use cerave cleanser also excellent. stop wasting your good money on other skin care products, this one is in a class by itself. and priced very reasonably. my skin is satin smooth to the touch now, i used to be embarrased for others to touch my skin, because of the rough feel i always had to my face. it also tightens the skin, its like a mini facelift everytime you apply the lotion. i'm spreading the word to all friends and family! i wish such a product existed years ago!

This feels nice on my red skin
I have been suffering from rosacea for a long time. I just turned 30 and my husband is coming back from Iraq in June so I have been doing my research to find the right product and want to look better before he gets back and for my health also. I have been reading about the good reviews on CeraVe moisturizing lotion and the cleanser so I went and purchased it last night at Walgreens and also had seen it at CVS. It is 11.99 & 12.99 at both stores. Walmart does not sell it I checked there. I could not wait to get home after purchasing this face cream and applying the lotion. It feels like hydration added to my irritated blotchy red skin. It was so red patchy on the left side of my face, this morning it looks red still but the big patch is evening out. This makes my severe red skin that has been flared up for a while feel so soft and puts the right moisture into my skin that I need. It feels so hydrated which I need. I cant wait to see more results. I have been using sensitive skin oil of olay and it makes my face to oily and makes it so red. I also have used Murad for red sensitive skin and did not help, origins wasted money and made skin worse and that was a calming mositerizer I thought I was helping but just making my face worse. I hope this CeraVe line continues to make my face feel so smooth and wonderful.

Rosacea Subtypes
Subtype 1: Erythematotelangiectatic rosacea
characterized by flushing and persistent redness, and may also include visible blood vessels.
Subtype 2: Papulopustular rosacea
characterized by persistent redness with transient bumps and pimples.
Subtype 3: Phymatous rosacea
characterized by skin thickening, often resulting in an enlargement of the nose from excess tissue.
Subtype 4: Ocular rosacea
characterized by ocular manifestations such as dry eye, tearing and burning, swollen eyelids, recurrent styes and potential vision loss from corneal damage.

Rosacea Stages
Pre-Rosacea
the first cardinal sign of rosacea: blood vessels dilate to more stimuli, open wider and stay open for longer periods of time compared to normal persons. No visible damage can normally be seen.
Mild Rosacea
begins when the facial redness induced by flushing persists for an abnormal length of time - usually 1/2 an hour or more after a trigger. Those who have frequent pre-rosacea flushing are highly susceptible to progressing to mild rosacea. Some of the common triggers for a facial flush are heat, cold, emotions, exercise, topical irritants and allergic reactions.
Moderate Rosacea
as facial flushing becomes more frequent and intense, vascular damage occurs. This can result in long lasting redness, swelling and inflammatory papules and pustules. Telangiectasia (damaged micro blood vessels, often visible on the surface of the skin) may be noticed in the areas where flushing is worst.
Severe Rosacaea
characterised by intense bouts of facial flushing, severe inflammation, facial pain, swelling and burning sensations. Sufferers may develop intolerance to products they were able to use before. Also inflammatory papules, pustules and nodules may be present. Some experience a bulbous enlargement of the nose, known as rhinophyma. This is just a guide, you may of course experience symptoms outside these ranges.
