Default Syed Green Tea Cream report

Hi,
I have been using the Green Tea cream from www.syedbeauty.com since yesterday morning (3 applications), and so far the impression is that it makes my skin more oily, so much that it is very annoying. I will have to see how this progresses. I have also noted a couple of acne popping up. I remember someone saying in a post that they only applied it once or so and it was way too much for their oily skin.

Oh well, early days, but Syed does say that I should report back to him and he will change the composition of the cream. Anyways, will report back.

Did anyone try the cream lately?

best wishes,
Mads

Default Syed Green Tea Report

I am 42 years old and have undergone 7 unsuccessful and painful sessions of IPL, have visited almost most of the dermatologists. I have been on accutane and metrogel with no success (I will not blame the medication, may be it did not work for me) and now using Dr. Syed?s green tea extract cream for my rosacea and seborrheic dermatitis for the last five weeks and very pleased with the results. Unlike you I have been told to use only two times a day and not three times a day. I suggest you must check with Dr. Syed. When I started I was not sure that green tea extract cream might work, I just took a chance or risk and now realized I should have used it before. We are desperate and looking cure trying every door. In my case first two weeks I did not see any improvement, however, in the third week I saw little improvement and that made me to believe and I continued the treatment. In my opinion there is no such medication on the planet that can cure rosacea or seborrheic dermatitis immediately, we need to give sometime to any treatment or topical medication, specially if one has a history of using accutane or cortisones etc. Till today I am happy and not sure for tomorrow, however, if I see any reaction I will be the first to report to all of you. Best wishes. Brian

Without wishing to talk when I should be listening...

I smell scam all over this Syed fellow. If I were you I would be hesitant to give the man another penny of your money.

Maybe I wrong, and if so, very sorry for doubting the man.

I asked Syed for published studies. Here is one as a Supplement to Journal of The American Academy of Dermatology, March 2006, Volume 54, Number 3:

http://rosacea.ii.net/news/2006/03/g...e-phase-2.html
Quote:
Objective: We sought to evaluate the clinical efficacy, tolerability, safety, and beneficial effects of 2% polyphenone (-EGCg, epigallocatechin gallate) incorporated in a hydrophilic cream to treat and manage papulopustular rosacea.

Methods: Preselected subjects (N = 100; 37 men/63 women) aged 25 to 50 years having visible signs of papules/pustules were sequentially randomized into two parallel groups. An identical precoded tube containing 50 g (either active drug or placebo) was allocated to each subject with instructions on how to topically apply the trial cream 2 times a day for 4 weeks. Cure was defined as absence of complete clinical signs of treated inflammation. Photographic and optical techniques were used both at baseline and on a weekly basis.

Results: By the end of the study, marked beneficial improvement was observed in both groups. Breaking the code revealed that 2% polyphenone in a hydrophilic cream yielded statistically significantly higher reduction in mean inflammatory lesion count than placebo. The most frequently assessed signs of rosacea were papules/pustules (38), erythema (34), and telangiectasia (28). Using the Investigator’s Global Assessment, therapeutic success in terms of a clear, minimal, or mild result was documented in 72% of patients treated with 2% polyphenone (-EGCg) cream (P <.0001).

Conclusion: The study substantiates that 2% polyphenone (-EGCg) in a hydrophilic cream is safe, tolerable, and significantly more beneficial in contributing superior clinical efficacy than placebo in the treatment and management of papulopustular rosacea.
72% is the total of mild, minimal and total clearance. It is not clear what percentage of that was total clearance though .....

Clinical Evaluation of 2% Green Tea Extract
in a Hydrophilic Gel to Treat Premature
Aging and Damage in Facial Skin 83

This study examined the clinical efficacy and beneficial effects of 2% green tea extract
in a hydrophilic gel to treat prematurely aged and damaged facial skin.
Methods: Sixty volunteers (46F/14M), aged 25-70 years, showing visible signs
of premature aging and damaged facial skin, were sequentially randomized into 2
parallel groups. All subjects was given an identically appearing, 50-g tubes containing
either active drug or placebo, with instructions. Subjects applied the trial
gel topically 2 times a day for 4 weeks. Clinical efficacy and beneficial effects were
assessed by dermatologic evaluations, such as irritation, changes in skin firmness,
elasticity, and instrumental measurements of skin hydration. Efficacy data regarding
the assessment of premature aging of the facial skin was evaluated by both in
vitro and in vivo tests.

Results: By the end of the treatment, marked beneficial improvement in skin texture
and appearance was observed in 43.3% of subjects. Code breaking revealed
that 2% (-)EGCg gel significantly improved premature aging, damaged or wrinkled
skin in 73.3% of subjects receiving active drug, while benefit occurred in
13.4% of placebo subjects.
Conclusion: The study demonstrates that 2% green tea extract in a hydrophilic
gel is safe and significantly more beneficial than placebo in imparting superior
clinical efficacy to treat premature aging and damaged facial skin.
KEYWORDS. Green tea extract, polyphenone, (-)EGCg, anti-aging gel
Notice rosacea is not mentioned at all but maybe because this magazine is about anti-ageing. The improvement was 'significant' in 73%. Measuring anti-ageing effect by skin 'firmness, elasticity and hydration' is quite vague. Where is the number of wrinkles, wrinkel depth etc. indicator???

Here is the bottom line for 'our sponsor':

1. The cream/gel with green tea is 'beneficial' but won't cure most of you. Otherwise they would have said 72% of TOTAL clearance, instead they include in that all cases in which there was even a 'minimal' imporvement. That sounds very different from the explanation on Syed's website. The new 1% Metrogel has MUCH BETTER statistics.

2. If you believe in will have some effect, it's super easy to get a green tea extract and compose a gel/cream at 2% level. You don't have to pay $125/ 1.5 oz.

Hi Buster,

How have you been lately? So you didn't get a good result with the Green Tea cream? Did Dr. Syed said it is good for seb derm? How long have you used it? Like you I have tried many stuffs for my SD, but can not find anything that really works and has a long lasting effect. We still need to struggle with the SD monster.

Best wishes, Winnie

Default Syed green tea cream

I wouldnt even consider it, it is such a scam you have no idea. the dr wont even answer me back anymore, he refuses to list the ingredients in the cream and only when I thrreatened him about going to the medical board about his "cure" claims, did he start responding and even sent me the cream free. His cream did nothing but felt thick and grasy on my face, burned my skin and made me turn bright red. why I even tried something that doesnt have an ingredient list is beyond me, we get so desperate sometimes and he makes his fortune feeding off this desperation, and with his erroneous claims.. beware!

I have been using the cream last 6 months and my Rocacea is almost gone.
To me the cream has been nothing but fantastic and nonirritating.
And Dr Syed has been nothing else but friendly and helpful..

I was watching this useful rosacea forum for the last several years and after seeing Jennifer replies (the most honest lady in the group) I joined and she gave me unbiased advices. Later I was bombarded with several emails by jmaguire1133 even absurd and call names (many of you have also received it). I wanted some respect and true advice and not calling bad names or solicitation. The man has no academic or medical background and questioning others with the word SCAM, where is the decency (freedom of speech). I contacted Dr. Syed and and paid for the customized cream and got beneficial results with much improvement and became a spectator on rosacea forum. Later I enquired Dr. Syed about the clinical studies and he laughed and said the studies Mr. orangehrzn is referring are studies with GEL and not CREAM and for Antiaging and not Rosacea. I got shocked how some of us are so irresponsible to write such statements. Where we are leading BAD SOAP OPERA or looking for decency and consolation to our pains from rosacea. I got CURED almost 80 percent and do not give a damn to such postings, however, I am grateful to this FORUM for allowing me to see BLACK and White. God Bless
you. Brian
