Clarifoam
My doctor just prescribed this for me. It's a facial wash consisting of 10% sodium sulfacetamide and 5% sulfur. On the insert it says used for acne, rosacea, and seb derm. So I thought, wow. That certainly is inclusive if it works LOL. Anyway, just thought I would mention this as many of you suffer from seb derm in addition to rosacea. That's why I posted this in the similar and coexisting section for those of you who are dealing with seb derm and rosacea. I have no clue if this will help as I have just received a prescription for it today and won't be trying it for a week or 2 as I just had a VBeam done and will not be using any topical meds on my face for now.
Hope this is helpful to someone.
Best wishes,
Melissa

Melissa,
Good luck with the foam wash. I am on the lookout for a good rosacea/seb derm wash since I now have the added (thankfully mild) seb derm.
That said, I know you will keep us posted.
How did the v-beam treatment go?

OK I guess.
She said she had never seen my face look like this with bumps all over it Made me feel good. And then she asked why did I d/c the antibiotic. That experiment failed. Funny thing when I was first diagnosed I was erythematous and now it turns out I have both types. The antibiotic which was Rxd from the start of my diagnosis suppressed the fact that I had p&p's. So I will be trying Oracea as of tomorrow and hope that works. It will take at least a month if it does. If not I am going back to Solodyn and hopefully that will do the trick.
Only problem with this derm (she's the chief of the laser clinic at NYU hospital) is she doesn't treat rosacea with more than a single pass and I am wondering about that. Everyone else who gets VBeam seems to get at least 2 or3 passes. Anyway, I look like a chipmunk again
Thankfully my husband took off the day from work so he could go with me and take me home. That was nice. I hate going home by myself after VBeam since I look like such a wreck. I somehow feel OK when Greg is with me. Less vulnerable somehow.
Best wishes,
Melissa

Melissa,
Sorry the v-beam wasn't all thay you hoped this time, but at least Greg is home with you and the results may become more evident over time. I can't say about the 2-3 passes as my derm only hits once as well. Hope you are hanging out, eating ice cream, etc. If you are not your usual positive, happy, optimistic, cheerleader on this board, the whole world feels like it might spin off its axis!
About what your derm said to you, my wife saw your photo as I read your posts to her this past Saturday (leaning over my shoulder) and she said you look lovely, so that is at least two more of us pulling for you that only see you for you.

Thanks Rob and Tiffany
I feel cheerful and upbeat so don't worry about me.
I just look like I've been through a 15 rounds with Muhammed Ali
But I feel strong

I am so angry/frustrated... insert pissed off emotion... here.
My husband went to the pharmacy yesterday after I saw the dr and dropped off the Rx's. They deliverd it today and guess what they delivered instead of the clarifoam? Are you ready for this? Cortifoam!!
A hydrocortisone acetate 10% preparation!!! Unbelievable!!
I called the pharmacy and the pharmacist on duty said he would check the original Rx and get back to me. LOL. What a huge mistake. And my dr wrote the Rx very clearly! Could you imagine if I was an elderly person with bad vision? I feel like laughing (I actually am laughing) but it's not funny. I can't wait for this pharmacist to call me back.

OK. The pharmacist called and said it was their mistake (no kidding) and he would order it and have it delivered tomorrow at their cost. My copay would have been $35 and I only paid $15 for the wrong drug (cortifoam) so that was very nice of them. I didn't know they could even do that but he said since it was their mistake it was on them. I am not mad anymore since he was so nice. Hopefully they will deliver the right drug tomorrow. I don't even plan on trying it until a week or 2 depending on how my face heals from VBeam but I don't like to procrastinate about ordering my drugs.
Thanks for letting me rant. It usually makes me feel better.
